Tour Fundraising Letter
Fundraising Letter to Our Viewers
First of all, thank you so much for your interest, belief, and support in what we’ve been doing over the past year now. We have the privilege of working hard doing what we love every day, and that simply would not be possible were it not for our viewers and the artists we’ve had opportunities to work with. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
We started Amplify on January 1, 2015 out of the simple and honest desire to share music we believe in with people through live performance videos, or Single Sessions, as we call them. Soon we found ourselves much busier than we had ever imagined, hosting live music events called Amplify Nights once a month, hiring a second production team and a booking manager, sponsoring local shows, launching a blog, and hiring interns. It’s been a crazy year full of many good times, but now we want to address you all publicly and humbly ask for your support in one more way.
The Need for a Fundraiser
Most of our Single Sessions feature our classmates at Belmont University, but now we're starting to grow outside of Belmont, producing sessions with artists in Nashville, Atlanta, and more– just last week our production team traveled to Los Angeles to capture Single Sessions on the West Coast.
We're at a pivotal moment with Amplify, and we now have even more opportunities to spotlight artists in different cities. That's why we've decided to take Amplify on the road this July, hitting as many cities as we can between Knoxville, TN and Portland, ME over the course of three weeks. This is the first time we've ever done something on this kind of scale, and we're very excited. We do, however, need your help to get us started.
How Much Do We Need And What Will It Cover?
We will be running a fundraising campaign between June 10th and July 10th to raise $3,000 for our tour. This sum of money will cover our travel expenses (gas and lodging), a new software suite for royalty management, music distribution expenses, money for toll roads, equipment insurance, and an emergency fund to cover any car issues or (God forbid) emergency room visits. We will offer perks on different tiers for people who donate, so be sure to check out our Indiegogo campaign for details when we launch this Friday, June 10th.
I Can’t Donate Financially, But I Can Help in Other Ways
As people living on tight budgets ourselves, we fully understand your situation and do not expect you to give anything out of your range of comfort. That being said, if you’re interested in helping out in other ways, such as making donations in kind, spreading the word, or helping us find artists to work with in the cities we’ll be visiting, you can let us know at the link to this Google form here. We sincerely appreciate any way in which you want to help and thank you for taking the time to tell us about it.
Some Final Words
Having the opportunity to help artists through Amplify over the past year has been one of the defining experiences of our lives thus far. Being musicians, photographers, videographers, engineers, actors, and writers ourselves, we all believe in the importance and power of art to impact people’s lives in big and meaningful ways. We want to help support the wonderful people who make that possible and ask that you please consider joining us in our commitment by donating.
